Scott smashes 10,000m PB in Stanford

At the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford last night, Marc Scott smashed his personal best for 10,000m, clocking 27:56.19 to finish second to Ben True (27:52.39). His previous best was the 28:07.97 he ran in Stanford in 2017.

Other Kimbia athletes to impress included Karissa Schweizer, who finished second in the fastest heat of the women’s 1500m in 4:12.10. Her Bowerman Track Club teammate Elise Cranny finished fourth in the same race in 4:13.20.

Lopez Lomong finished 15th in the men’s 5000m in 13:28.74, while Jess Tonn impressed in the women’s 10,000m, coming home 13th in 32:06.19.

Stanford graduate Sean McGorty ran well in the men’s 1500m to finish fourth in 3:39.00, a race won by Olympic 800m bronze medalist Clayton Murphy in 3:37.59.
