Schweizer flies to 5K PB at Sunset Tour

A host of Kimbia athletes were in action on Tuesday night at the Sunset Tour in Azusa Pacific University, with a string of superb performances.

Karissa Schweizer claimed victory over a strong field in the women’s 5000m in 15:01.63, a personal best by one second. Lopez Lomong continued his fine form with victory in the men’s 5000m, the Bowerman Track Club athlete winning in 13:25.13. Grant Fisher, in his professional debut, finished fourth in the same race in 13:29.03.

Elise Cranny was in action over 1500m and finished a fine fourth in 4:08.99, while in the second heat Courtney Frerichs again impressed over 1500m, taking victory in 4:11.05.

Amos Bartelsmeyer turned in an excellent performance to win the second heat of the men’s 1500, clocking 3:37.44. Josh Thompson clocked 3:38.71.

Izaic Yorks led the field home in the second seeded heat of the men’s 800m, taking victory in 1:46.97 ahead of Brooks Beasts teammate Henry Wynne, who ran 1:47.00.
