Kimbia welcomes five new signings


Kimbia Athletics is delighted to welcome four new members to the team as we look ahead to a big year in 2022. Patrick Dever, Blaise Ferro, Poppy Tank,John Dressel and Thomas Ratcliffe have all turned professional. Dever, Ferro, Tank and Dressel will now run for the Puma-sponsored training group based near Chapel Hill, North Carolina, while Ratcliffe has joined the Nike Bowerman Track Club.

Dever was the NCAA champion over 10,000m this year, the 25-year-old Tulsa graduate showing his class over a variety of distances by taking victory at the British Championships over 5000m and lowering his 10,000m best to 27:41.87.

Ferro, 24, a graduate of Northern Arizona University, finished a fine sixth at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships in March and clocked lifetime bests for both 5000m and 10,000m this year: 13:31.54 and 27:56.30.

Tank, 24, is a graduate of the University of Utah, and she finished ninth at the NCAA Championships over 10,000m in the summer and 27th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in March. She has personal bests of 15:45.07 for 5000m and 32:50.57 for 10,000m.

Dressel, 24, is a graduate of the University of Colorado who holds personal bests of 13:36.29 for 5000m and 28:03.87 for 10,000m. He showed he’s been settling in well with his new setup by finishing a fine fourth at the recent Manchester Road Race, clocking 21:43 for the 7.64K distance.

Ratcliffe, 24, is the son of Kimbia Athletics founder Tom, and was a standout performer for Stanford University and the University of North Carolina in recent years, finishing third in the 5000m at the NCAA Championships in 2019 and seventh in 2021. In the latter race he lowered his best to 13:20.88.
