KIMbia Adds NJ/NY Athletes DiCrescenzo, Donohue to the Fold

KIMbia Athletics is pleased to announce that standout Americans Erin Donohue and Delilah DiCrescenzo are joining our roster.  Both athletes are currently training with renowned coach Frank Gagliano — better known as “Gags” — in the New York metropolitan area as part of the NJ/NY Track Club.

Donohue is the rare high school star that continues to make good.  If her prep years were meteoric — two National Titles and a New Jersey State Record in the Mile, plus countless state championships and meet records in all manner of events — Donohue has put together a professional career that is incredibly consistent. In a style befitting her blue-collar, grind-it-out personality, Donohue has taken bits and chunks out of her personal bests year after year, clocking 4:03:49 for 1500m and 1:59.99 in the 800m, making one Olympic and two World Championship teams, along the way.

Donohue had been representing herself for the past several months and explained the decision to connect with KIMbia, saying, “Tom [Ratcliffe] and KIMbia have a great reputation and a track record for helping their athletes get the most out of the sport.  I’m very excited to begin working with them.” Currently living in her home state of New Jersey, Donohue aims to become a fixture in the Top 10 in the World Rankings for both of her events and to take a shot at an Olympic medal.

DiCrescenzo, the media darling of early 2008, continues to show that she is much more than the answer to a pop-culture trivia question.  The Illinois native has earned PB’s of 9:41.68 for the steeplechase and 15:40.00 for 5000m, and has been one of America’s best cross country runners, winning USATF Club Nationals in 2007, and representing the United States at the World Cross Country Championships in 2009 (33rd) and the NACAC Championships in 2010 (Champion).  Like Donahue, she is training with Gags in New Jersey, but DiCrescenzo continues to make her home in New York City, where she is completing a Masters Degree in Sports Management at Columbia University and working towards the Daegu World Championships and the 2012 Olympic Trials.

We look forward to assisting each of these outstanding athletes in the pursuit of her goals… as well as to sharing their stories with athletics fans along the way.

We will have more from each athlete in the coming days. In the meantime, for more information on either athlete, please see their respective biography pages: Erin Donohue, Delilah DiCrescenzo
