Jager Smokes 7:35 in Stockholm

Evan Jager ran yet another smart, patient Diamond League race and, at the end of his evenly-paced effort, was rewarded with a massive personal best performance  – and a spot in the US Top-10 All-Time list. Jager finished 6th in a top-notch field filled with Olympians, running 7:35.16 and pushing his way past Dathan Ritzenhein and into the Top 10 among all American runners.

Jager’s previous PB was a 7:41 run in Monaco in 2009. The rest of his new compatriots on the All-Time list is a Who’s Who of American stars: Bernard Lagat, Bob Kennedy, and teammate Matt Tegenkamp and Chris Solinsky, among others.

Also in the race, training partner Andrew Bumbalough matched his PB of 7:44 in his first race since July’s Olympic Trials 5000. Jager will next race a 1500 in Belgium. In the meantime, watch highlights from the Stockholm 3000m below.
