Did You Know…? My, We’ve Come A Long Way Edition

Running 13:07.6 on December 3, 1964, Ron Clarke set the World Record for 3-miles at Olympic Park Stadium, the same venue where the 2011 Melbourne Track Classic was contested.

Did you know that all four KIMbia athletes running in Clarke’s footsteps on the Olympic Park oval managed to¬†eclipse that former record on their way to a full 5000 meters? Chris Solinsky led the way with (unofficially) a mark of 12:45, en route to a 13:10.22. Matt Tegenkamp, Andrew Bumbalough, and Tim Nelson all followed.
