Elise Cranny produced an astonishing performance at the BU Valentine meeting in Boston on Friday night, smashing the US indoor women’s 5000m record by 14 seconds, clocking 14:33.17 to finish second behind Bowerman Track Club teammate Gabriela Debues-Stafford.
Cranny’s fellow Kimbia athlete Courtney Frerichs also had a huge run, finishing third in 14:48.75, an outright personal best by two seconds.
Recent signing Michaela Meyer was in action over a mile, the 800m specialist showing strong fitness by clocking an indoor PR of 4:29.64, which was just a fraction outside her outdoor best of 4:29.16.
