Born in Germany, Fasil holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from ASU, and has represented the United States at the Cross Country World Championships in 1999 as a Junior, and again in 2007. As an Indianapolis prep, he placed 5th at the Foot Locker National Championships in 1997.
