Chris Solinsky was interviewed by Peter Gambaccini of RunnersWorld.com for the magazine’s Brief Chat series. Therein, Chris discusses last summer’s disappointing 5th-place finish at the Trials, as well as his outstanding opener this year at Mt. Sac and the benefits of relocating to Portland:
We just have the ability to do a little more concentrated efforts versus Madison, where we adapted to the weather. Obviously, that limited a lot of things that we could do. I think it was 11 or 12 straight weeks that I did a tempo run on a treadmill last winter. It limits what kind of fitness you can get into. In Portland, if it’s 30 and raining, that’s probably the coldest we have. [...] I’ll take rain any day over zero temperatures.
You and me both, Chris. Read the full Brief Chat here.
